Full Turnkey Office Fit Out for European Process Plants Ltd (EPP)
JBH Refurbishments was contracted to deliver a turnkey office fit out at Epsom Business Park in Surrey for European Process Plant Limited (EPP). This leading supplier of bakery equipment and machinery repair services contacted JBH in preparation for their move. With their sights on a larger premises, a mere stone’s through from their outgoing unit, the EPP leadership team were keen to use the move as an opportunity to create a modern, functional, and efficient workspace.
Working within an empty shell, the project scope for EPP included a complete office design package, layout alterations, glazed partitioning, M&E installation, fire and security upgrades, office furnishings, washrooms, and warehouse enhancements.
As a leading supplier of bakery equipment and machinery repair services, European Process Plant Limited (EPP) was expanding and needed additional space for its growing workforce and stock. Fortunately, a nearby unit within the same estate at Epsom Business Park became available. The new space presented EPP an opportunity to build an upgraded, modern, functional, and efficient workspace.
Following a thorough site survey, together the client and the JBH team developed a scope of work for this turnkey office fit out, including:
- Structural layout alterations
- Office interior Design
- Partitioning installation
- Mechanical and Electrical installation
- Fire and security
- Office furniture
- Washrooms
- Warehouse finishes
The objective was to create a workspace that enhanced functionality and reflected EPP’s brand identity. The project needed to incorporate open-plan and private office areas, modern design elements, and practical workspace solutions.
Key deliverables included:
- Structural layout alterations to the mezzanine to maximise the usable office space.
- Modern glazed partitioning to divide a range of office spaces including managerial offices and meeting rooms.
- Upgraded Mechanical and Electrical system, including HVAC, ventilation, and electrical installation.
- Fire & Security Compliance – ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Warehouse Upgrades – flooring, lighting, and skylight installation.
Staircase relocation
Originally, the staircase was positioned in front of the warehouse roller shutter door, which posed an obstruction for large machinery and equipment going out on hire. Therefore it was decided early on that the staircase needed to be moved for forklift access.
Mezzanine floor
The mezzanine floors was reduced to half its original depth, and a new staircase was installed featuring a glass balustrade and stainless-steel handrail.
Reception area
A dedicated reception space was added in the lobby to create a welcoming entrance.
Upgrades to the Washroom & Shower Facilities
The DDA-compliant washroom required minimal work. JBH merely gave the space an uplift with grey IPS toilet panelling and hygienic cladding
Office Spaces
While the main office remained open plan, glass partitions were introduced to create two management offices, a boardroom and kitchen.
Kitchen
A fully equipped kitchen was installed on the upper floor for employee convenience.
- HVAC System:
- Mitsubishi split system with heat recovery for efficient climate control.
- Exposed ventilation ductwork incorporated into the ceiling design.
- Electrical Installation: A full electrical upgrade was completed to support the office layout and new HVAC system.
Any workplace must be fitted with critcal life safety and security systems to protect people and assets. Therefore, as part of this turnkey office fit out, we installed:
- Fire Alarm System: A new compliant fire alarm system was installed for safety.
- Door Entry Security: A modern access control system was implemented.
- Fire-Rated Ceiling: The underside of the mezzanine floor was fitted with a fire-rated ceiling to meet building regulations.
EPP wanted a sleek and modern aesthetic while ensuring practical functionality. Key design elements included:
- Timber Slat Feature Wall: A light timber slat wall with pale grey backing and integrated white LED strips was installed throughout key areas. The design, featuring 65 meters of slats and 15 meters of LED strip lighting, was inspired by our Tony Gee project.
- Grey block-pattern flooring: inspired by the Kentec project, this flooring was chosen for its durability and contemporary appeal.
- Kitchen enhancements: while the kitchen layout remained unchanged, it was refreshed to align with the modernised space.
- DDA toilet upgrade: the washroom was upgraded with IPS toilet panelling and hygienic cladding for a high-standard finish.
As well as creating a super sleek office fit out for EPP, JBH also upgraded the warehouse space, which included:
- Re-coated flooring: the warehouse floor was refurbished for improved durability and aesthetics.
- Polycarbonate skylights: new skylights were installed in the roof to increase natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting and enhancing the workspace environment.
As part of this extensive turnkey office fit out, JBH supplied and installed a complete furniture package, which included:
- Ergonomic desks and chairs for office spaces.
- Open storage units and shelving solutions to maximise space efficiency.
The completed project delivered a modern, efficient, and fully functional workspace for EPP’s new premises. The successful fit-out not only met the client’s operational requirements but also enhanced the aesthetics and usability of the office and warehouse.
