When JBH carried out an office design refurbishment for one of Kent’s finest catering companies, it not only improved the interior, but also its bottom line!

Event catering company, Relish offers a range of sumptuous menus for all types of events across London, Kent and the South East. With a high-profile client base, including some of the UK’s wealthiest, the company has a fantastic reputation.

With such an impeccable service, the company needed offices that were fitting for an exclusive catering business. The existing décor, layout and overall fit-out was not giving the best first impression on Relish’s new and potential customers when they visited the Dartford-based offices. As a result, the company felt they could improve their client base by improving their interior.

When Director, Chris Bowden received a marketing email from JBH Refurbishments about how important an office interior is to a customer’s perception of a business, he gave our team a call.

After a thorough site survey, we were able to provide interior design and new layout options for the Kent office space. The new office interior was designed to be more in keeping with company’s branding, while the new layout – which included a designated tasting room, small office kitchen, storage and offices – offered a professional environment to host new clients.

JBH Refurbishments provided a competitive quote to revive Relish’s commercial property, which was soon accepted and work began promptly.

In only FOUR WEEKS the team at JBH had transformed the interior into smart a lavish environment that would easily impress Relish clients.

In the first instance, the JBH onsite team, cleared the existing partitioned walls, doors, flooring and fixtures to create a clean and clear environment. In addition, the radiators, damaged ceiling tiles, skirting boards, spot lighting and tracks were removed.

Once stripped, work could begin to rebuild Relish’s Kent office interior. The work involved:

• Repair to the office wall
• New skirting boards were fitted and painted
• Replacement suspended ceiling tiles
• New aluminium frame partitioning was installed to divide the various spaces within the office. The walls facing the hall/kitchen area were finished with full-height glazed partitioning with integrated binds. The dividing walls were fitted with solid wall office partition
• New electrics sockets were fitted to the new walls
• LED lighting was installed within the suspended ceiling
• The main walls were decorated with white matt emulsion
• In the tasting /meeting room, we used a rose paint to create a feature wall that matched Relish’s branding
• New floor tiles were fitted throughout, while a durable vinyl floor was fitted to the kitchen area
• New office kitchen units were fitted to create a tea point. This was finished with a high gloss graphite grey doors, slimline wine fridge and double oven

I am utterly delighted with the work carried out by JBH Refurbishments. They have created an office space that I feel is a true representation of our company.

At Relish we provide the best possible service to our customers. We have a fantastic menu and some high-profile clients, yet we felt our office area prevented us winning new business, as it did not present the best first impression. Now we have somewhere we can confidently meet with clients and be proud of our premises.

I was tremendously impressed by the work carried out by JBH and I have no hesitation in recommending their refurbishment services. The design and layout is exactly what we needed and the onsite team were extremely polite, helpful and tidy.
Since the office refurbishment, we have received fantastic comments from our visitors and I believe it will help us to secure new clients in the future.

I suggest any business that entertains clients, or indeed wants a productive workforce, seriously reviews their office space. Having a fresh and professional office refurbishment has injected new energy into my business and I’m positive for the future. The before and after pictures say it all!

Based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Adaptive Globalization contacted JBH Refurbishments to provide a complete office refurbishment.

As a growing business with offices in London, Berlin, San Diego and New York, global recruitment company, Adaptive Globalization, needed its UK office to depict its heightening profile.

The brief was to create an inspirational office space fitting for its expanding team of high energy recruitment consultants.

Having spent several years in the Tunbridge Wells office in Kent, Adaptive Globalization workforce had expanded and there was a clear requirement to create separate work zones within – what was – an open plan office.

Being a young and vibrant company, Adaptive Globalization wanted a space that was fun, quirky and on trend, while reflecting the company’s branding and the type of work they carry out.

The office interior design team at JBH Refurbishments swiftly came up with a design that incorporated all these elements and much more.

To make the most of the available space we created two separate office areas at one end of the property using glass office partitions with two rows of coloured spot manifestation to match the company’s corporate colours. For a seamless finish we also installed glass doors. These new rooms would provide a meeting room and office for the Managing Director.

At Adaptive Globalization they LOVE coffee! Our office design team therefore thought it apt to create a dedicated coffee zone. Taking inspiration from the classic New York coffee house and incorporating the “global” element of the business, we installed:

• Grey shaker style kitchen units
• A solid oak block worktop
• Shelving painted with complimentary grey paint
• Chalk board panel to frame the coffee area
• An under counter glass fronted wine fridge
• Brick clad wall tiles to the back wall of the coffee point
• A power point for the coffee machine and wine fridge

In a small office finding somewhere to store IT equipment can prove frustrating. As part of the Adaptive Globalization Office fit out, we installed a large white gloss storage unit. It’s unobtrusive design is ideal for a small office area.

During a busy working day it’s important to have somewhere to socialise with colleagues and de-stress. By providing a special breakout zone or a dedicated area to wind down, you can improve the quality of life within a business, leading to fewer day off sick and a lower staff turnover.

For the Adaptive Globalization office refurbishment we understood their work ethic and their desire to engage their dynamic workforce, so we incorporated a dartboard area within the office design. Taking inspiration from a traditional pub dartboard, we fitted:

• a long strip of red carpet for the standing area
• a chalkboard was painted onto the wall
• The dartboard was installed onto the chalkboard wall

Since completing this fun area, the team at Adaptive Globalization have vastly improved their skills on the dartboard and could give any pub team in Kent a run for their money!

Wall art is an integral element to any office refurbishment. As soon as a visitors walks through the doors of an office they will gain an impression of your business, and wall art can help influence their impression.

We advise using wall art to clearly define your business. It should explain:

• What you do
• The nature of your business
• Your philosophy
• Reflect you corporate branding (colours and shapes from your logo)

For this office refurbishment in Kent we made bespoke wall art to create a feature wall within the office. The artwork was world map to represent the company’s global reach and the nature of the recruitment drive, which is to source suitable employees for placement in global organisations.

Above the world map, we fitted the company’s strapline, ‘Investing in People’.

By understanding the nature of the business, we create office spaces that are not only visually impactful, but also deviler the practical needs for a business. Brainstorming and planning was a key factor for this Kent office refurbishment. We therefore installed a floor to ceiling white board measuring 2400mm wide. This was situated between the coffee area and dartboard. Positioned in such a central location within the office allows the entire team to view important messages and diagrams that can offer inspiration and knowledge.

When you have an unsightly view from your office window it can be disheartening and can really let down the finish of a beautifully finished office refurbishment. The view from Adaptive Globalization office was a roof top that was home to several air conditioning units. During the design process of the Kent office refurbishment we developed an idea that would incorporate the company’s London connection. We created bespoke window film manifestation illustrating the London skyline. The images included London landmarks, St Pauls Cathedral, Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the Gherkin Building.

Before any of the fittings and fixtures were installed, the JBH team painted the walls and skirting boards and laid new grey carpet tiles to the majority of the Kent office space. In the conference room and dartboard area we laid red carpet floor tiles and a semicircle of grey vinyl around the coffee area.

Once the decoration, flooring, glass office partitions, coffee area and fixtures and fittings were complete, it was time to furnish this new stylish office refurbishment.

To suit the fashionable office design, we supplied 15 A-frame white desks measuring 1200mm x 800mm and fitted cabling to the underside of each desk with cable covers. In the meeting room we supplied a larger desk, measuring 2000mm x 800mm with the same A-frame design.

Remarkably, this Kent office refurbishment was completed within just three weeks. Being a live environment meant that our team had to work around busy working hours and occasional weekends.

“JBH Refurbishments are a very friendly and professional team. When Jason and Harry came to meet us in our office they were very organised, professional, meticulous and knew exactly what we were after. This carried on throughout the whole design process and when the office refurbishment was taking place. The team were very quick to come back regarding design concepts, pricing and alternatives.

The craftsmen and decorators that worked in our office were friendly, hardworking and did an excellent job all-round.

I couldn’t recommend JBH Refurbishments enough to any other company that want a friendly, professional and fast acting company.”
